Looking around the web and I found a lot of articles saying Dell monitors are terrible for daisy chaining but beyond not enabling DP 1.2 and MST, nothing else was a solution to our problem. Windows 10 registered that the monitor was attached and daisy chained but we couldn't get an image to display. After plugging in the daisy chained monitor, the monitor would flicker an image of the desktop for a second and then go black. We enabled DisplayPort 1.2 in the Dell settings (FYI - you need to have a valid video signal to get to the menu to turn this on) and double checked that MST was enabled for the graphics card. They wanted to reserve the HDMI slot on the card, so I suggested running their 24" Dell monitors by daisy chaining the last two monitors. I have asked today ,if it is needed some special Dell comatible cbale or adapter that needs to be purchaes but the technican on the phone couldn't give me an answer on that one.We have a problem where a user has 4 monitors hooked up to their Windows 10 system with an RTX 2070 for graphics. So I'm pretty desparate now as I'm out of ideas, and hav tired everything but like a Dell forum and communicty I really hope somenone from Dell or some user like me been in the same situation to give me an answer ,as you will now better the Dell monitors and their issues. I have update Dell Optiplex 3080 BIOS (no chnage)Ģ.I have updated the Optiplexe's Video drivers (no change)ģ.I have tried 2 different HDMI to DP cables (brand new) (no signal)Ĥ.I have tried outputting from 2 different computers from their HDMI outputs ( no signal again)ĥ.The last thing is I even tried using HDMI female to DP adapter and conecting the HDMI to HDMI cable form the PC to monitor using this adapter ( no signal again) So I will make a list of the things I have done so far ,so to be easy to troubleshout it:ġ. The intresting thing here is whne I have conected the Dell Optiplex PC from HDMI to hDMI to another monitor it is ouputing a signal, hence the problem is not in the Optiplex PC for sure. I have purchased DP to HDMI cables and have tried to connect the second Dell monitor ,which is brand new from the box but ,no joy,no signal via the HDMI to DP port conection, if I switch to DP to DP conection ,spot on ,no prolmes the monitors shines on! But if I tried to conencted via HDMI to DP port conection HDMI (form the PC) to DP to the Dell E2422H, there is no joy at all. We bought another monitor from the same model and we want to connect it like a secondary via the only video output (conection) left HDMI and because this model monitors as you probly guess or know don't have HDMI input. The problem is following, so we have Dell Optiplexes 3080 SFF desktops has DisplayPort, will call it short DP and HDMI outputs for video signals only, built-in on the board of the PC.Īt the moment we have 1x Dell E2422H conected via DP to DP conection and it is all working fine. So I have a big ask and a big problem and I really hope someone could help me and answer me because since now I have spoken with 3 Dell suppport technicians today on the phone with no result. I'm IT tech in a school and I'm very happy that I just have registered and joined this great Dell community forum.
